New Track: "Diamond Marrow" - Sing, Bird of Prey

Sing, Bird of Prey masterfully takes us back in time with the band's new track, "Diamond Marrow." The wonderfully-crafted psych-pop/rock ditty is the first single off the group's upcoming LP, and it originally appeared on the Seagreen Records compilation Singles on Valentine's Day 2016 earlier this year. Sing, Bird of Prey's full-length album was recorded and produced by Kyle Pulley at Headroom Philadelphia.

Ecstatic Vision Opening for Earthless at Underground Arts March 19

The entrancing power of psych-rockers Ecstatic Vision pulls listeners into a mind-warping vortex. Possessing a primal grip, the band’s gravitational pull is rooted in the inertia of its interlocking, tone-setting backend, consuming the surroundings in a tunnel of momentum. With that foundation laid, the internal, tormenting temperature is constantly on the rise. As shards of scorching guitar rip through the sonic tapestry, the vocals serve as thunderous proclamations, guiding you into unfamiliar territory. Tonight at Underground Arts, they’re paired with San Diego’s Earthless, who will be blasting off and stamping the cosmos with their personal brand of raunchy psych-rock. Underground Arts, 1200 Callowhill St., 8pm, $16, 21+ - Michael Colavita

New Track: "Jawbreaker" - Laser Background

Below is the latest dreamy composition from Laser Background, a.k.a. Andy Molholt,  called "Jawbreaker." It's the first single from Molholt's upcoming full-length album, and was co-produced with Ava Luna's Carlos Hernandez and Julian Fader at Gravesend Recordings, which resides inside Brooklyn DIY space The Silent Barn. Andy shared, "This song is for all the people who feel helpless. This song is a shattering call to free yourself from the toxic boundaries that we create for ourselves. Life is too short! Don't waste it." Laser Background will be welcoming the arrival of the hand-cut lathe 7" single at Johnny Brenda's tomorrow night, along with Mock Suns, who also recently dropped a new LP Stay True, and Sun Hat.

Hungry Skinny The Lower 48 and Mars and the Massacre Play BOTH - 3/19

The San Francisco based garage rock band, Hungry Skinny will be playing Bottom of the Hill with The Lower 48 and Mars and the Massacre. You're not going to want to miss this show! Hungry Skinny was formed in San Francisco's tenderloin district in 2011. They have recorded and released 3 EP's with Light Rail Studios; "Ain't Walkin' You Home", "Nobody Cares", and "Birth & A Murder".

“If the Beatles and Jack White gave birth to a musical baby, it would sound something like The Lower 48 – and yes, the band is just as ferocious as one would imagine, as we discovered in our interview. The trio’s multi-instrumental thick wall of sound is marvelous because the lead singer isn’t just a lead singer, the bassist doesn’t only play bass, and the drummer doesn’t only drum; they all carry the weight of at least two players effortlessly…”

Mars and The Massacre is an LA-based Psychedelic/Garage Rock band originally hailing from Indianapolis, IN. Formed in early 2013, the group of martians has already gained a strong following in Los Angeles, being known particularly for their entrancing and unpredictable live shows.
