The Deli Philly's Anniversary Bash w/Suburban Living, LOUDS & The Retinas at PhilaMOCA This Saturday!

We hope that everyone is enjoying the lovely fall weather, and getting in a great mood this week as we prepare for The Deli Philly’s 8th Anniversary Bash this Saturday, October 15 with our friends at PhilaMOCA! We’ve already shared that the post-garage, slacker rock of The Retinas and the joyous indie pop of LOUDS will be joining us in celebrating this momentous occasion. And now, we are psyched to announce that our pals Suburban Living will be headlining the evening’s festivities.

After spinning the righteous tunes for last year’s bash (which was an absolute blast), we were happy to hear that Wesley Bunch and the gang wanted to return once again for a special full-band performance. Come join us for the feels & experience why you’ll never want to miss a Deli Philly Anniversary Bash again! (More info about the party HERE.) Much love! - Q.D. Tran

Prowler EP/Beer Release Show at Ortlieb's Oct. 8

Twisted transmissions from an alien planet, Prowler invades Ortlieb’s this evening. The band cultivates an intoxicating blend of oddball rock and funk; a satisfyingly strange, soul stew riding the space boogie. Tonight, the crew celebrates their collaboration with Highway Manor Brewing Co., “Funky Prowler” (a dry Irish stout), with a bottle release show. A free glass of Funky Prowler comes with your admission, while bottles of the brew will also include their new EP Hand Disease. With a new EP Good Knight, Sweet Dreams freshly released on cassette, the enchanting psych pop-rock of The Fantastic Imagination emerge from a mysterious magical territory, while the kaleidoscope jams of Hueman Group and the comic styling of Greg Trout fill out this slate. Ortlieb’s, 847 N. 3rd St., 8pm, $10, 21+ - Michael Colavita

Halfnoise releases ‘Sudden Feeling,’ goes on a 4 week US tour

Turn up the noise! Or should I say “half” noise? Nashville’s Zac Farro is coming at us with his downright hypnotic indie pop album Sudden Feeling, the third release of Farro’s solo project, Halfnoise. One could simply melt away into the multifarious pad, lead, and bass synths that swirl, swell, and shimmer over a percussive hodgepodge—not to mention Farro’s smooth, velvety tenor vocals as they proclaim the sorrows, losses, and loves of times past. The sound is quite reminiscent of The Postal Service’s solemn vibes shrouded in a lighthearted aesthetic. Just take a listen to the album’s title track (streaming below) and you’ll know what I mean. And in case you need another taste we've added his single In The Summer down below as well. Halfnoise is touring the states this Fall, so grab a copy of Sudden Feeling to help you wait out his arrival. - Ashley Muniz
