Aaron Noj defies his surroundings in latest single "M.O.T.M."

We are always digging deep into New England's talent garden to find rising artists from all corners of the region: we have unearthed a March gem we want to share with you. Derry, New Hampshire's Aaron Noj released his single "M.O.T.M." with little fanfare and in relative obscurity but its bite should not be ignored as it leaves a lasting mark. Aaron rebels against the tranquility of Derry's quaint Main Street and the town's overall serenity with sharp grunge guitar chords that reverberate violently. Aaron's distant voice is melancholic, angst-fueled, entrancing—grunge music's preference. The culminating instrumental breakdown is destructive and has a lo-fi sound to it that delivers a cathartic finish. Whatever emotion you are feeling, Aaron's track will be sure to discover it and animate it. We are looking forward to some show listings from this alternative artist; stream “M.O.T.M.” below. - Rene Cobar

BODEGA debuts new EP "Shiny New Model"

Ahead of their forthcoming release Shiny New Model, New York garage heroes BODEGA headlined Brooklyn’s Market Hotel September 28th. The EP’s title track is a sunny and energetic romp, characterized by an uneasy sense of self—lead singer Bodega Ben riffs on the built-in obsolesce of technology (and people) while dropping metaphysical bombs, like “every woman and man is a microcosm of lust.” Watch the video below, and catch BODEGA’s wild, philosophical ride this Saturday alongside Native Sun, and Kahiem Rivera.

Black Heart Saints Release New EP 'Misery'

A heavy southern rock band with a heavier name, Black Heart Saints' new EP titled Misery blends together heavy southern soul and 80's power rock. To call it alternative would be a huge understatement.

Altogether the EP is an extensive, solid blend of head-pounding rock. Earth-shattering vocals eclipse the limitless melodies carried by the band with a vigorous consistency. Full of electricity, they have everything they need to make even more great material.

Addicted to Love hits all the sweet spots. Showmanship and stylization only they could pull off has created one amazing cover. All necessary adjustments, made, this flows perfectly into the rest of the Black Heart Saints EP.

Warpark brings multi-faceted, '90s inspired alt rock to Rough Trade NYC 10.10

Loud and groovy is an understatement when it comes to describing the NYC based band, Warpark. Comprised of Simon Arcenio, Roger Walsh, and Nick Ciccantelli, the band brings a vibe to their alternative rock tracks that's reminiscent of '90s artists with very little in common like Cake, Pavement and Jeff Buckley, creating a complex and multifaceted sound. Their three singles, released in early 2019, showcase a band constantly searching for new sonic sounscapes. “While They Slept” is purely instrumental, featuring an energetic melody with blaring backing instruments, while “Take Your Place” highlights a slacker rock approach to vocals that complements the pure insanity of the melody. The longest track released is “Like A Void,” one of a calmer nature, is not without welcome twists and turns. Warpark will be playing Rough Trade NYC on 10.10 with Plague Vendor and No Parents.  - Karigan Wright
