Spirit Animal

Spirit Animal release 'World War IV' EP at Mercury on 02.11

Another band with big plans for 2016 is Brooklyn's Spirit Animal, who recently shared with PureVolume a new track "Front Seat Feelin" from the band's forthcoming 'World War IV' EP, scheduled for a February 19th release. We can't embed that song here, but we do have access to the EP's opening song "Regular World," streaming below, which manages to be anthemic, punch, and cheeky at once. The quartet will be celebrating the release of the EP with a show at Mercury Lounge on February 11.

We added this song to The Deli's playlist of Best alt rock songs by emerging NYC artists - check it out!

Spirit Animal wins The Deli's Year End Poll ALT ROCK Open Submissions

Spirit Animal breaks out on their latest fun filled party anthem record with 'The Black Jack White' (streaming). We wish this would have came out in the summer because it's begging to be blasted out of our windows. In the 4 track EP Kingdom Phylum, it's sometimes funky and always fun. We wouldn't be surprised if Beck (Midnight Vultures era) is the king of this realm, and Alexis Krauss (Sleigh Bells) is the Queen - but Spirit Animal are definitely the party makers.
You can join in on the fun and pledge your lineage to their kingdom, and maybe even find your own Spirit Animal in the process on January 31st @ Webster Hall. - Joe Fish

Weekly Feature: Spirit Animal releases "Kingdom Phylum" EP on 10.01

Like any band sounding like some kind of hybrid fusion, as accurately described in their bio, of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and LCD Soundsytem, Spirit Animal has the ability to get you moving. Offering a brand of dance/pop/funk-rock that will beat you senseless, the quartet made up of Steve Cooper, Ronen Evron, Paul Michel and Cal Stamp are known for their overwhelming stage presence and broad range of musical aptitude. The guys are set to release a four-song EP titled "Kingdom Phylum" on October 1st, a follow-up to their 2012 This Is A Test, which will include the aforementioned hit song. – Michael Haskoor (@Tweetskoor) - Link: Michael Haskoor's Interview with Spirit Animal.

New Video: Spirit Animal SXSW 2012 Tour Video

Below is a new video of Spirit Animal’s trip to SXSW this year. We think that it’d be fun to hit the road with the power trio, or at least, get raging drunk and puff down with them. The footage was taken by BITBY’s Kyle Costill, Joshua “Shorty Boy-boy” Pannepacker, The Veda Rays, and Spirit Animal, and edited by VJ Kraken. Special thanks to BITBY for bringing it to our attention.
