Great lineup of local bands at Baby's All Right on 12.06: Iris Lune, Lip Talk, MMEADOWS

Three NYC based bands with a surprisingly similar sound (rather mellow but edgy, electronic and melodic, featuring female lead vocals) will share the stage of Baby's All Right in occasion of the headliner's Iris Lune release party. The other two are Lip Talk and MMEADOWS. We created a compilation of their songs for you, it's really good, check it out!
The Deli sponsors LPR's On The Rise night with Lip Talk, Dinowalrus and Raia Was

On February 1st, The Deli will be start sponsoring Le Poisson Rouge's "On The Rise" series, which is focused on outstanding local, emerging artists. We'll be curious to see live again two artists we booked a few years ago and that have had the patience to hone their skill and grow throughout the years (rare thing in the band business): we are referring to hybrid, avant-indie quartet Lip Talk, and psych rock turned psych pop band Dinowalrus. Noteworthy singer songwriter Raia Was will round out a night of great music made in NYC.
Check out each artist's latest single below, and buy tickets here - there will be free magazines for all!
Lip Talk readies new release, plays at Baby’s All Right 12.11

Formerly known as Railbird (a band we booked at one of our CMJ shows years ago), Brooklyn’s psychedel-ectronic pop band Lip Talk released their last spellbinding EP “Ghost” two years ago, and - according to their website - has a new release coming out... last month! (Delays are not exactly rare in the record industry). The groups toured quite a bit in the fall, and supported Okkervill River at Webster Hall on October 20th. If you enjoy edgy beats, swirling synths, droning guitars, and seductive, airy vocals, make sure to take a listen to the self-title single below and catch them live at Baby’s All Right on December 11. Looking forward to the new release, whenever it may drop! - Ashley Muniz, photo by Jackie Lee Young / VICE
Several NYC indie ladies perform at Manhattan Inn tonight within "The Hum" series

Tonight at 10PM, Hypnocraft’s The Hum, an ongoing (and free) residency featuring collaborations between NYC musicians from desperate genres, will once again take over Manhattan Inn in Greenpoint. The artists bring to bear an expansive repertoire to their respective sets, which shimmer with that always exciting energy of that “new band smell.” I was lucky enough to catch the residency’s first iteration, which closed with a powerful duet between Shilpa Ray and Deva Mahal of Skylines, and this Monday’s offerings are no less impressive. The bill includes Teeny Liberson (TEEN), Zoe Brecher (Brainfreeze), Jen Goma (People Get Ready), Sarah Pedinotti (Lip Talk, streaming), Kalmia Traver (Rubblebucket), Kaila Mallady, Jordyn Blakely (Invisible Familiars), Alyse Lamb (Eula) and Alex Nelson (Oracle Room, also streaming). - Emilio Herce - In the picture, an image from last' week's show by David Andrako.
