Joel Gion Release New Single - Tomorrow

San Francisco based musician, Joel Gion has released a new single entitled, Tomorrow. This new neo psych pop track is a great new addition to his music catalog and rock and roll lineage. We love this song's rebellious and super cool attitude where Joel sings:

"Don't need a high place in a lowdown world
I'll keep moving on
Where I can be myself and here's something else
I'm doing nothing wrong
Seems everything is brought to extremes
Just to keep people runnin around..."

Tomorrow was written by Gion where he performed vocal, rhythm guitars, maracas and tambourine. The was produced and mixed by Collin Hegna at Revolver Studios in Portland, OR. Hegna also played bass on this track. Paul Dillon played guitars and Brian Gardner performed on drums.

It’s always a pleasure to hear new music from a San Francisco icon! Take a listen and support independent artists!

Joel Gion Performs at Ameoba Records - 8/20

San Francisco based legendary musician, Joel Gion is embarking on an independent music journey as he prepares to release his debut full length album, Apple Bonkers later this month. "Apple Bonkers will be out on August 19th in the U.S and on the 18th in Europe on VINYL / CD and DIGITAL formats via The Reverberation Appreciation Society and The Committee to Keep Music Evil. Apple Bonkers will also be released on cassette via a co-release with Burger Records."

He is splitting his time between performing as the beloved tambourine and percussion player for the wildly successful 60s revivalist rock band, The Brian Jonestown Massacre and this personal musical endeavor, which is proving to be successful in its own right as he continues to be embraced by his long time fans, and gleefully discovered by young listeners.

If you did not attend the string of local shows Joel and his band, Joel Gion & the Primary Colours played earlier this year, you will have a chance to see him perform live at Amoeba Music in San Francisco on August 20th. This in-store performance is absolutely FREE!!!!! -je

Joel Gion Premieres New Music Video

San Francisco based neo psych-revivalist and Bay Area based music legend, Joel Gion is beginning to gain momentum with his solo music project, Joel Gion & the Primary Colors. With a hand full of local shows under his belt, Gion continues to emerge with the premiere of his new music video, Overthrow. The video is a reflection of the washed and colorful track that highlights Joel's whispered shoegaze vocals and Ryan Van Kriedt's unique and haunting audial production style. Members of the Brian Jonestown Massacre, Federale, Asteroid #4 and Dead Skeletons lend a hand to this sensuous track.

The video (created by Damien Taylor) is completely trippy and portrays a visual homage to psychedelic culture and rock and roll awesomeness. Look out for this track, which is set for release on 7" and download cards on April 22. Gion's new full length album is titled, Apple Bonkers and is set to emerge onto the scene this summer. -je
