Jean Jeanie, of the avant-pop project Future Twin, offers up a deliciously synthy power ballad in new song “Head Like a Halo.” Future Twin’s music is above all else fueled by activism and social theory.

This is clear in her single’s 360˚ music video that was filmed in a living art installation on the night of the presidential election. The video captures the frenzied energy of that night and its kaleidoscope of emotions, all of which are fueled by the lyrics insisting on the need to step back from the computer and interact with others off-screen. San Francisco's one-woman tour-de-force, Future Twin, has recently dropped the brand new single, Are You Rested (Enough Yet)? Take a listen to this lovely, moody new effort by a San Francisco staple.

The San Francisco based soul-gaze band, Future Twin has produced a music video for their upbeat rock-pop track, We're Here. The video is great. It's always good to see the conceptual expression of helping ordinary people escape what is boring and mundane, and discover what colorful fun life has to offer. We're Here tells a story of three people who are seemingly lost in the monotony and routine of their realities until a strange human lady with a colorful mask appears to break them free of their pain and disenfranchisement.

“"We’re Here” is a song about standing together. About not being broken up. It’s about cohesion. The script and concept that we attempted to portray in this music video center on the daily lives of archetypes of urban life: the office worker, the service worker and the retired elder. In hyper-productivist America, we often ask people when first meeting them, in order to get to know them better, “What do you do?” Playing on this way of defining people, as if our day job equates the very fiber of our being, as if that’s the most interesting facet of someone’s life (what they do to commodify their labor)– we attempted to show the triviality of such things." - Jean Jeanie, Future Twin

Jean Jeanie, the lead singer of the San Francisco based soul-gaze band, Future Twin will be playing an intimate solo show at Artist Television Access in the Mission District of San Francisco on April 29th. She'll be performing a set of "aleatoric / chance-controlled music" (music in which some element of the composition is left to chance or is left to the determination of its performer) at 8 pm, so make sure you get there early!

We're always keeping an eye out for unique events around the Bay Area, and if you love Jean Jeanie's confident, soulful voice, you should certainly experience her in a new artistic element. This upcoming show is a charitable event and closing reception for "Better Homes and Gardens Today", an art show featuring: Megan Wilson & Christopher Statton in collaboration with the Gubbio Project and Coalition on Homelessness
